Dr. Micono is a board-certified forensic psychologist with nearly two decades of experience conducting court-ordered and private forensic evaluations. She is licensed in Colorado and New Mexico and is certified in forensic psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).

Dr. Micono is the founder of Rocky Mountain Evaluation PLLC, a private forensic psychology practice in Denver, Colorado. Her practice focuses primarily on criminal forensic evaluations, including assessments of competency to proceed, criminal responsibility, diminished capacity and sentencing mitigation. She provides comprehensive, empirically grounded reports and expert testimony in legal proceedings.

Prior to establishing her private practice, Dr. Micono served for over a decade as the Forensics Unit Psychologist at the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FCI Englewood), where she provided forensic evaluations and evidence-based treatment for individuals with severe mental illness. In this role, she worked closely with the United States District Courts, provided expert testimony, and helped shape national policy and training materials for forensic psychology within the Bureau. She also served as the Training Director at FCI Englewood for the BOP’s nationally recognized forensic postdoctoral fellowship program, approved by the American Board of Forensic Psychology.

Dr. Micono is deeply committed to the professional development of future psychologists and has supervised doctoral interns, practicum students, and postdoctoral fellows. She has developed and delivered trainings on forensic evaluation, mental health case law, and treatment practices for incarcerated individuals with serious mental illness.

She earned her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology, where she also completed master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Forensic Psychology.
